Release workflow (what happens before publish)

Ingest: source updates are collected from available upstream references.
Normalize: fields are mapped to the common repository schema (country, postal, place, admin, WGS84 coordinates).
Validate: automated checks evaluate schema integrity, coordinate bounds, and hierarchy consistency.
Publish: a new snapshot version is released and sitemap/update signals are refreshed.

Correction and incident handling

If you report a data issue (missing postal codes, naming mismatches, or geographic anomalies), we triage it through the same validation pipeline used for regular rebuilds.

Versioning principles

Snapshots are immutable references intended for reproducible analytics and ETL jobs.
If a regression is detected, rollback to the last stable behavior is preferred while root cause is investigated.
Schema compatibility is preserved whenever possible; notable structural changes are communicated in release notes.
