Release workflow (what happens before publish)

  1. Ingest: source updates are collected from available upstream references.
  2. Normalize: fields are mapped to the common repository schema (country, postal, place, admin, WGS84 coordinates).
  3. Validate: automated checks evaluate schema integrity, coordinate bounds, and hierarchy consistency.
  4. Publish: a new snapshot version is released and sitemap/update signals are refreshed.

Correction and incident handling

If you report a data issue (missing postal codes, naming mismatches, or geographic anomalies), we triage it through the same validation pipeline used for regular rebuilds.

  • Report channel: /contact
  • Prioritization: impact on search accuracy, address resolution, and geographic consistency.
  • Transparency: significant operational events are reflected in /updates.

Versioning principles

  • Snapshots are immutable references intended for reproducible analytics and ETL jobs.
  • If a regression is detected, rollback to the last stable behavior is preferred while root cause is investigated.
  • Schema compatibility is preserved whenever possible; notable structural changes are communicated in release notes.
